About this tool
When a PDF will not open properly, this tool re-reads it leniently and writes a clean copy. If the structure is too badly damaged, it recovers every page that can still be displayed and rebuilds them as images. It cannot recover content that is missing from the file itself.
Frequently asked questions
Why did some pages not come back?
If the data for a page is missing or truncated, for example from an interrupted download, there is nothing left to recover. Try downloading the original again.
Will the repaired file keep its text?
In a structural repair, yes. If pages had to be rebuilt as images, use OCR PDF to make them searchable.
