About this tool
PDF/A is the ISO standard for documents that must stay readable for years. This tool creates an image-based PDF/A-2b copy: every page is rendered faithfully with an sRGB colour profile and archive metadata, so it does not depend on fonts. Text in the copy is not selectable. For formal compliance checks, validate the result with the free veraPDF validator.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the text not selectable?
Pages are stored as images so the archive copy never depends on fonts. Keep the original as well if you need searchable text.
Is the result guaranteed to pass validation?
It is built to the PDF/A-2b rules, but we recommend checking important archives with veraPDF.
